The polarization maintaining (PM) fiber assembly is 3 meters long. It was manufactured by Fiber Instrument Sales (FIS). It uses Corning PM fiber (optimized for transmission at 1550nm) in a 900 micron buffer attached to FC/UPC connectors on both ends. The fiber/connector is aligned along the slow axis. Insertion loss is <.5dB and extinction ratio is >25dB. This assembly is in mint condition. It has been used only a few times for testing. A new assembly with these specifications costs ~ $150 at FIS. About Newton Photonics: We are a company doing research on systems that employ photonic sensing. The assembly being sold is excess to our current needs: it has been used in our lab AND is fully functional. |
