EverStone UV-Blocker is a Non-Yellowing, 36% solids, single component, clear, acrylic urethane coating with excellent wear and adhesion properties. UV-Blocker acts to protect substrate material from harmful UV light. UV light is the portion of sunlight that degrades and discolors many types of natural stone and epoxy overlays. UV-Blocker is recommended as a high performance protective topcoat for epoxy coatings that are subjected to extreme sunlight. • Protects by Absorbing Harmful UV Light • Excellent Abrasion Resistance • Single or Multiple Coat Application * 5 Gallon (19 L) Unit packaged in a single container PHYSICAL / CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS: 6 months (between 50°F and 85°F) (10°C and 29°C) 55°F to 85°F (13°C to 29°C) @ less than 75% R.H. 400+ psi (2758 kPa) w/ concrete failure (ASTM D-4226) Self-Extinguishing (ASTM D-635) This product should be applied at the rate of approximately 300-400 sq. ft. per gallon when going over a smooth surface. As with all coatings, coverage is dependent on the smoothness and porosity of the surface. Coverage rates will vary with the size of aggregate used. UV-Blocker must be applied over clean surfaces. • DO NOT Use when Humidity Exceeds 75%. • DO NOT Exceed Recommended Coverage Rates. • DO NOT Allow Material to Puddle During Application. • Allow Each Coat to Dry 6-8 hours before Recoating. • Discard any Material Subjected to Freezing. • DO NOT Apply to Structurally Unsound Surfaces. • DO NOT Allow contact with bare concrete. Contact will cause untreated concrete to turn bright yellow. Blend thoroughly for 30 seconds prior to applying. Take care not to induce air into the material when mixing. This will cause "bubbles" in the coating when applied. UV-Topcoat is a single component material. Once the container has been opened, this material may skin over if it is not agitated for long periods. Using any product that has been exposed to air for an extended period of time will result in variable results. Therefore, any opened product with extensive skinning should be discarded. Apply all material to the floor as quickly as possible The recommended application of this product involves spraying it with a pump up or airless sprayer. The coating should be sprayed in a continuous manner from one side of the area being coated to the other. The UV-Blocker must be sprayed as evenly as possible. To do this, spray forward in a straight line and then spray the same column backwards to eliminate spike shoe marks. Overlap the next column to be sprayed by ½" with the previously sprayed column. The UV-Blocker can be applied at the rate of 300-400 sq. ft. per gallon. Allow the UV-Blocker to dry thoroughly before mixing and applying the next coat. It should be tack before recoating (this takes between 6-8 hours @ 75 °F and 50% R.H). Application equipment should be cleaned using soap and water, immediately after use. Empty containers may contain product residue. Label warnings must be observed until containers have been commercially cleaned or reconditioned. Containers to be thrown out must be disposed in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. Use only licensed hazardous waste disposal companies. |
