Subject: 50/60 hz cvs regulator transformer line conditioner
This is for one unit that is rated 1500 watts or 1.5 kva. They are all 50 cycle units that are to be run from 50 Hz input and give 50 Hz output. they are not cycle converters, The taps on it are for inputs of
OUTPUT is 120 2 wire or 120/240 3 wire or 240 2 wire.
This is a fully insulated and isolating transformer. 3 units may be connected to operate in 3 phase connection giving fault current limiting under 40 amps and fully isolated from a grounding or neutral supply system.
There are many types of uses for these units where harmonics in the line need elimination for sensitive electronics, close regulation of output voltage with low high or wide variations of input voltage. Fault Current limiting applications . Particularly to power inverters or scr drives that have the possibility of destroying themselves if gated incorrectly or failure of a device. It is also an invaluable item for use on a test bench. Those who dont know about this type of constant voltage regulator need to try one for testing loads and circuits that short out possibly. They are able to run short circuited for periods of time without damage to them. output current gets limited to a little more than the full load rating, and consequently the voltage will drop to nearly nothing. The same proportional effect takes place beyond the load rating where after so many kva is delivered at constant voltage it acts more like a constant wattage transformer.
This unit has been factory assembled with a line cord and a case mounted receptacle.
if these units are connected and used on 60 cycle supply lines the resulting output regulated voltage will be about 150 to 160 v RMS, as set up right now. i have found that removing 1 capacitor for the regulator winding yeilds 120 volt. This can be verified with the factory and they can advise you further on this operation.
