Vintage brass transit with tripod signed: No:4841 B.K. (Elliot appears to be rubbed off by polishing) Pittsburgh, Cleveland I'm sorry but I do not know anything about transits other than it needs a blumb-bob The legs are sturdy though they could use a good cleaning. It's approx. 5' tall I can make out the No 4841; B.K.; then 'something' Pittsbugh Cleveland. No other markings that I can see I couldn't find anything specific about the B.K. Elliot Company, but I know they did publish surveying catalogs at the turn of the 20th century The bubble level is cracked as you can see. There is a slight curve to it only.
