This unit appears to have not been used. Not a scratch on it. The dependability of the Model D523 Porro Prism is based on the insensitivity of one axis related to the sensitivity in the other axis. As the entrance beam contacts the prism, the exit beam will be parallel to it. Therefore, any rotation about the axis parallel to the vertex of the prism will not cause angular deviation. this feature enables angular measurement in one axis without regards to the other.
