Instruments for Industry, Inc. SMX 50 Wideband Amplifier - NON FUNCTIONAL Frequency range 10kHz to 1GHz, Power 50W, Supply 115V/60Hz, manufactured 1995 This unit is faulty, probably as a result of me connecting it to a 240V supply instead of 115V! When connecting it to a 115V transformer, the +28V indicator flashes for about 10 seconds, before the fault indicator led is illuminated, and the LCD gives a message indicating power failure. The units cooler fans and display appear to be working. I managed to get the schematics for the power supply (LAMBDA LFS-45-28), but don't really know enough (or have the time) to be able to fix it. 18 months ago, these units were being sold for £18.5K (I don't know what they are currently going for). So, if you know how to fix/replace power supplies, you may just bag a bargain! I STRESS THAT THIS ITEM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, AND IS SOLD AS-IS. |
