The JDSU OA 450 Series is a controlled optical amplifier delivered in a compact and economical package. It is designed for use in either single channel or dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks. The amplifier is delivered in a 70 x 90 x 15 mm platform, which is becoming a standard within the industry. The standard configuration of the OA 450 can provide up to 24 dB gain and up to 17 dB output power with a noise figure of less than 6 dB across the entire C band. The OA 450 platform offers options to its performance including 15 and 20 dB output power, gain flatness, and a coil heater. The transient suppression feature of the module minimizes transmission penalties as channels are added and dropped in the network, or as input power varies. The control interface is a Transistor-Transistor Logic (TTL) level RS232 driven by a 5 V power supply. The OA 450 series is an excellent addition to the standard series of erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) modules already offered by JDSU. JDSU has extensive experience with the development of fully functioning EDFAs and can design standard, high-performance optical amplifier products that meet your technical performance requirements, cost targets, and timeto- market needs. * Compact, industry standard package size, 70 x 90 x 15 mm * State-of-the art control electronics featuring transient suppression, alarms, automatic shutdown and RS232 command interface * Optional features including 15 or 20 dBm output power, gain flatness and coil heater * Metro, long haul, or ultra long haul networks * Single channel or DWDM networks * Pre-amplifier or booster amplification |
