KEUFFEL AND ESSER No 5701 LOCKE'S HAND LEVEL This bronzed brass hand level from the late 1800s or early 1900s is a high quality highly convenient instrument popular with those doing hurried field measurements. The level is 5 inches long and has a draw to the eyepiece tube. The spirit level is enclosed in a housing that rises above the tube and occupies half the inner eyepiece tube. The bubble can then be seen centered on this half of the tube while focusing on the target through the other half. This level is solid and complete with no defects other than it comes with a leather pouch when sold that no longer exists.
