This FPGA+Linux Board employs the proven high performer Virtex-II Pro FPGA, with the PowerPC 405 as the CPU core. Linux is provided as the standard operating system environment.
Linux (kernel 2.4) is employed as the standard operating system, offering proven stability and access to rich software resources.
With Xilinx's FPGA (Virtex-II Pro), various peripherals can be created alongside the CPU core within the FPGA. While being small in size, the 70 user I/O pins allow for easy expansion.
Network ready devices can easily be developed by utilizing the combination of the LAN interface (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) and Linux's TCP/IP protocol stack.
From FPGA evaluation to mass produced embedded devices, the Virtex-II Pro FPGA+Linux Board is a great platform for network ready devices.

uClinux-dist, a Linux distribution originally developed to support uClinux, is used with this board. The ability to select only required functionality makes it highly suitable for use with embedded devices.

The Linux kernel and applications that run on this board are cross developed on either a Linux or WindowsXP/2000 PC.
